Chief Compliance Officer - Compliance

Eager to take your compliance career in a new direction and be part of driving innovation in financial services? We are looking for an ambitious ‘hands-on’ compliance leader who specializes in payment services to head up our Compliance department.  


We are looking for a candidate with demonstrated experience in financial services risk management, preferably with previous experience in setting up and overseeing the effectiveness of compliance programs for payment institutions.

In this role, you are expected to lead and oversee the implementation of Yoba’s compliance program and ensure the effectiveness and efficient implementation thereof. It is very important that you are driven by creating simplicity and that you are comfortable in using and assessing new technology to manage compliance risk.


  • Have day-to-day responsibility for ensuring Yoba’s compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.  

  • Build the Compliance function from scratch, including hiring further compliance staff as the business grows.

  • Form an integral part of Yoba’s management team.  

  • Ensure a good understanding and effective implementation of Yoba’s compliance vision and culture across the entire organisation.  

  • Be the organisation’s compliance subject matter expert, keeping up to date with all legal and regulatory changes.

  • Continuously advise on process requirements and improvements to other departments to influence and ensure regulatory compliance.

  • Ensure high quality in Yoba’s operating procedures, monitoring processes, and investigative tool requirements.

  • Promote high business standards and ethical practices as well as a culture of compliance within Yoba.

  • Identify staff training needs, develop and ensure the completion of such


  • The successful candidate will be subject to the approval of the CSSF and will therefore need to be able to demonstrate a proven track record in managing compliance risk.

  • 5+ years of prior experience in compliance, legal and/or risk management.  

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English, ability to interpret and explain complex issues for consumption by technical and non-technical audiences at all levels.

  • French language skills are an advantage.  

  • Driven & results-orientated, willing to challenge the status quo.

  • Previous experience in the payments industry is preferred.
